Day 11 – October 3, 2019

We visited the Primary Health Unit at Bojongsari and the staffs there gave us a tour around the facilities. After that, we went to the community that was focused on pediatrics. We shared a little knowledge about stunting in the Philippines, but there are only minimal cases. After that, we went to a house where approved herbal medicines were made and they taught us how “Jamu”, the herbal medicine were made.

Day 9 – October 1, 2019

We attended Mr. Dedy’s class about the Clinical Risk. We had a little sharing of what we know and what the class knows about the different risk that may happen between a Public/Government Hospital and a Private Hospital. After Mr. Dedy’s class, Mr. Wito gave us a little knowledge about Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. He also discussed to us about Tuberculosis. In Indonesia, TB is the 2nd health problem next to HIV.

Day 8 – September 30, 2019

We attended Mr. Dedy’s class about Transcultural Nursing. Mr. Dedy tackled about the Importance, Roles of Nurses, Standards of Transcultural Nursing, and Stages & Levels of Cultural Competency Development. We discussed a lot of differences about the culture, religions, lifestyle, and many more of Indonesia and Philippines.

Day 5 – September 27, 2019

In the Morning, we had a class with Ns. Siti Nurjanah, M.Kep., Sp.Kep. J and she discussed to us the Communication in Nursing Practice. We learned about the verbal and non-verbal communication. It is also called the NPI or the Nurse-Patient Interaction. Its main goal is to gain the client’s cooperation and trust.

At Night, about 7:00pm, we were invited to attend SMECONE ENGLISH COMMUNITY. Students were asking us about our impression to the City of Purwokerto and schools in it. After that, we were given the chance to ask them about what they think of the Philippines.
